There’s a great selection of restaurants, cafes, and bars to choose from, and plenty of other activities available in the area. Many hotels have swimming pools that you can also use.

Day 1

Upon arrival at Kos Airport, you will be picked up by a transfer service that will take you to our Beachside Retreat, which is located approximately 30-45 minutes away. Gilly, your Host, will be there to welcome you and guide you to your accommodation for the week. You will have ample time to settle in and get your bearings, and she will also introduce you to your assigned bicycle for the duration of your stay.
Later on, at around 6 pm, the group will gather for the first evening meal, where you will meet your fitness instructor/assistant host and your fellow retreat participants. During this time, you will receive a comprehensive plan for the exciting week ahead.
If, for any reason, you arrive after this time, there is no need to worry. A meal will still be provided for you, and you can meet everyone else during breakfast the next day.

Day 2

At 8 am, a fitness class will be offered for those who want to participate. It’s important to note that there’s no obligation to take part in any activity, and you are free to choose what you want to do. After the class, an Al A Carte breakfast will be available from 9 am to 10 am, and you can take your time enjoying it.
There are no other scheduled activities until 4 pm. During this free time, you can explore the nearby attractions if you’re interested. In the evening, there will be a fitness class, sunset yoga/Pilates, and a group dinner.

Day 3

On Day 3, there’s an option for an early start with a guided bike ride to the Thermal springs of Kos. The ride covers a distance of approximately 40km, with a break halfway to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the natural spring. The route will take you along the coast road and through Kos Town.
After returning to the Retreat, you’ll have some free time to unwind before participating in the evening fitness classes, including a sunset pilates/yoga session, which would be a perfect way to end the day after the morning bike ride.

Day 4

Begin your day with a rejuvenating Yoga session, a perfect way to start the day on a positive note.
Afterward, you can take advantage of the different fitness classes that will be available throughout the day.
For those who want to explore the surrounding areas, you can hop on your bike and explore the nearby attractions. Just ask Gilly for some recommendations.

Day 5

We will be starting the day early today to avoid the heat as we hike up Mount Dikeos. We highly recommend having breakfast before you hop into the arranged transportation to the mountain village of Zia. From there, we will embark on our moderate-level hike up to the highest point of the island to appreciate the stunning views. The hike is also suitable for trail runners and is reasonably signposted. You will have free time to explore the village of Zia, whether it’s shopping, having coffee, or visiting the nature park.
After leaving Zia, we will head back to the Retreat. Later in the evening, you can choose from a variety of fitness classes available.

Day 6

Today, we start the day with a fitness class at a more relaxed time. Afterward, you have the opportunity to pursue your chosen activity for the day. Before arriving, you will have discussed and booked your desired activity with Gilly. You may have opted for a sunset horseback ride, allowing for the rest of the day to be free. Alternatively, if you are looking for a new experience, you can try windsurfing, with lessons available for beginners, or equipment rentals for those with more experience. Kos is renowned for its windsurfing, so it’s a great opportunity to give it a go. If you feel like some pampering, the traditional Artemis Hamam offers a variety of packages ranging from one-hour sessions to full-day indulgences. For those who wish to explore further afield, there are options for boat trips to nearby islands or even to Turkey. If you prefer a more relaxed day, the beautiful beach is always a great option for a lazy day in the sun.

Day 7

On the final day of activities, we will begin with a Pilates or Yoga class to start the day on a positive note. Throughout the day, you will have the option to participate in a variety of fitness classes, including Aqua Fitness in the Sea. However, the classes will end early to allow for an evening trip to Kos town. There, you will have the chance to experience the local cuisine and browse for last-minute souvenirs in the charming harbor area.

Day 8

On departure day, it’s time to bid farewell. We’ll be sad to see you go, but we hope you’ve had a wonderful time at the retreat and will return in the future. You’ll be transferred to the airport to catch your flight home.

Kos Island, Greece… (the Island that has everything)

Welcome to Kos, one of the most loved islands of the Dodecanese. The island has adopted some fascinating names “The garden of the Aegean”, for its wealth of water and crops, and “The island of Hippocrates” for having given birth to the most famous doctor in history. Kos is known to be an excellent starting point for exploring the Dodecanese islands or neighbouring Turkey.

Kos is 43 km long and 2 km wide at the narrowest point, up to a maximum of 6 km at its largest point. It is the third island of the Dodecanese for size and the second for the population. Its close proximity to the coasts of Turkey and more precisely to the ancient city of Halicarnassus, now known as Bodrum, makes it particularly fascinating as it offers an interesting combination of eastern and western elements. Even though Kos is known for its tourism, it has done well in maintaining its soul. Escaping from the tourists is easily done, and you will always manage to find a hidden away beach.

Kos City and other known places…

The capital of the island is Kos town (Kos City), a lively tourist town, rich in history as well as bars, Greek taverns and narrow streets with shops. Kos town has beautiful beaches sheltered from the Meltemi and is the most requested tourist resort on the island. Nearby there are several villages with a traditional soul such as Platani, Pili, Zia and Asomatos. A short distance away are the thermal baths of Kos, a natural swimming pool renowned for its sulphurous water and the archaeological site “Asklepion”, the most important site of the island of Kos. Just stone’s throw away from the Asklepion itself is the extraordinary location of our incredible Hippocrates Fitness & Wellness Retreats.

Other known villages are Tigaki, Marmari and Mastihari in the northern part of the island, these are mainly tourist resorts that offer good services but most importantly long sandy beaches. Towards the south of Kos there is the small village of Kardamena, a place that in recent years is particularly frequented by families, but also couples of young people, in search of tranquillity and crystal clear sea. Kefalos, however, has to be the gem of southern Kos. It is known to be the most authentic and peaceful place, as well as boasting the most beautiful beaches on the island of Kos. Beaches are mostly wide and sandy, but you can also find bays and rocky coves with amazing sea colours.

The Climate…

Most people escape to the Greek Islands for the Sun, and Kos is no different. From April to November, a period during which the rains are very rare, the island offers a Mediterranean climate of excellence that gives the possibility to fully enjoy the sea and perpetually sunny days.

At the same time caressed by the Meltemi (the summer wind) which allows the high temperatures of the high season to be more pleasant. It is possible to run into a few hours of rain only from the end of September / early October but it is dispersed in a short time.

Where our Nature Retreats are…

We are located at The Asklipion Valley Guest House approximately 4.5km away from Kos Town. The Guest house is set in stunning gardens with incredible sea and mountain views, the perfect setting to wind down. Each studio/apartment is uniquely different but with a fantastic traditional Greek design. The owner of the guest house is an incredibly talented local artist and has made the guest house extremely welcoming. Each studio/apartment comes equipped with basic cooking facilities for the days you do not fancy eating with the group (however, 3 meals a day will be provided). Some of the rooms have terraces/balconies allowing you to enjoy your morning coffee/tea in private (if you wish) and all have private bathrooms.

Where our Luxury Retreats are…

We are located at the luxurious TAF Boutique Villas, which is on the outskirts of the wonderful village of Tigaki. Tigaki is famous for its long golden sandy beach. There are 3 villas on site, each having its own swimming pool. As part of the retreat, we occupy Villas Theodoros and Alexandros. Each Villa has a Master Suite with an ensuite and two double bedrooms. The complex is all about outdoor luxury living. On-site, we have a top-of-the-range outdoor gym, an outdoor cinema and an outdoor bar which will be where we will dine in style

Where our Beach Retreats are…

The Nature reserve is home to flamingos in the cooler months, and many different wildlife all year round.
