Our retreat is perfect for those who want to try something new while staying active. For instance, each guest receives a bicycle to use throughout the week, allowing exploration beyond the guest house.

Located in the Asklipion Valley, our retreat is situated in the location of the first hospital where Hippocrates established the Medical Oath. Our accommodation, the Asklipion Valley Guest House, is steeped in Greek culture, with each studio or apartment uniquely designed and furnished. Most of our rooms offer a terrace or balcony with stunning views, making our guests feel at home whether they're traveling alone, with a friend, or partner.

Our retreat offers a fantastic array of activities, including a bike ride to the natural spa at Therma Beach, which boasts breathtaking scenery and valuable minerals. We also offer a hike up Dikeos mountain, providing stunning views of neighboring islands and Turkey. Additionally, we offer an optional activity day where you can choose to horse ride on the beach, windsurf at one of the local centers or pamper yourself at the traditional Artemis Hamam located in the village of Tigaki.

Our fitness program includes Pilates, Yoga, Cross Training, Boxing, TRX, HIIT, and Kettlebells, but all activities are voluntary, and guests can choose which ones to participate in. We understand the importance of rest, and guests can also unwind on the beach, taking a refreshing dip in the clear blue waters. If you prefer a more relaxed day, you are free to organize your activities, such as shopping trips or visiting local islands.

Please note that the additional activities on the activity day are subject to availability and are not included in the price of the retreat.

Our retreat is located at The Asklipion Valley Guest House, which is approximately 4.5km away from Kos Town. The guest house is surrounded by breathtaking gardens, providing stunning views of the sea and mountains, creating a peaceful and serene environment for relaxation. Each studio or apartment has a unique traditional Greek design that is tastefully done. The owner, a talented local artist, has infused the guest house with warmth and hospitality. Basic cooking facilities are available in the studios and apartments for those who prefer to prepare their own meals. Some of the rooms come with balconies or terraces, providing an ideal spot for enjoying your morning coffee or tea in privacy. All the rooms are equipped with private bathrooms. Whether you're traveling alone or with a companion, we have the perfect accommodation option for you.

Day 1

After arriving at Kos Airport, you will be transferred to Asklipion Valley Guest House, which is approximately 30-45 minutes away. Your host, Gilly, will greet you upon arrival and take you to your accommodation for the week. You will have some time to settle in and get familiar with the surroundings. Additionally, you will be introduced to your allocated bicycle for the week.
In the evening, at around 6 pm, the group will convene for an orientation session. This is an opportunity to meet your fitness instructor/assistant host, as well as your fellow retreaters, and to get a detailed plan for the exciting week ahead. You can take advantage of the on-site meals available for your convenience.
If you arrive after 6 pm, don't worry; there will still be an evening meal waiting for you, and you can meet the group during breakfast.

Day 2

For those interested, there will be an optional fitness class available at 8 am. Remember, everything is voluntary, and you can participate in whatever you prefer. After the class, a buffet breakfast will be served between 9 am and 10 am, so feel free to take your time.
There are no other scheduled activities until 5 pm when an evening fitness class will be held, followed by a delectable BBQ. To end the day peacefully, there will be a sunset yoga or Pilates session. During your free time, you can explore nearby attractions, such as the Asklepion, which is only a short distance away.

Day 3

On Day 3, we will have an early start as we embark on a guided bike ride to the famed Thermal springs of Kos. The total distance of the bike ride is approximately 30km, but we will take a break midway to experience the healing properties of the natural spring. The route will take you through some charming villages, including Platani, known to be the Turkish settlement on the island.
After returning to the Guest House, you will have some free time to relax before the evening of fitness classes. If you wish to participate, there will be a sunset Pilates/yoga class that will be a perfect way to end the day after a morning of cycling.
For those who are not comfortable with longer bike rides, an E-Bike upgrade is available. Please ask for details.

Day 4

If you're an early bird, you'll enjoy starting Day 4 with a Pilates/yoga class. Following the class, a variety of fitness classes will be available throughout the day.
For those who want to explore the local area, you can take a bike ride and ask Gilly or Anastasia, the Guesthouse Owner, for some ideas on where to go.

Day 5

We will start Day 5 with an early morning hike up Mount Dikeos to catch the stunning views before the sun gets too hot. A hearty breakfast is recommended before taking the organized transportation to the picturesque village of Zia, from where we will begin the moderate-level hike to the island's highest point. The trail is also suitable for trail runners and is well-signposted. Once in Zia, you can take your time to explore the village, indulge in some shopping, grab a coffee, have lunch, or visit the nature park.
After a fun-filled day, we will return to the Asklipion Valley Guest House, where you can take part in the evening's fitness classes as per your preference.

Day 6

Day 6 offers you the flexibility to start with a fitness class and then select the preferred activity that you pre-booked with Gilly at the start of the week. You can choose from various options like horse riding at sunset, windsurfing lessons or rentals, or a relaxing visit to the traditional Artemis Hamam that offers different packages to suit your needs. Additionally, you can explore the neighboring islands or Turkey with a boat trip or spend a lazy day at one of the local beaches, and we can provide you with directions.

Day 7

The final day of activities, Day 7, starts with either Pilates or Yoga, followed by a range of fitness classes throughout the day. If you choose to cycle to Tigaki, you can join an Aqua Fitness class in the sea. However, the classes will end early, and in the evening, we'll head to Kos town to enjoy the local cuisine at the harbor, which is included in the retreat package. This is a perfect opportunity to buy some last-minute souvenirs to take home.

Day 8

On the day of departure, Day 8, it's time to say goodbye. We'll be sad to see you go, but we hope you enjoyed your stay and would like to return. You'll be transferred to the airport to catch your flight.

Kos Island, Greece… (the Island that has everything)

Welcome to Kos, one of the most loved islands of the Dodecanese. The island has adopted some fascinating names “The garden of the Aegean”, for its wealth of water and crops, and “The island of Hippocrates” for having given birth to the most famous doctor in history. Kos is known to be an excellent starting point for exploring the Dodecanese islands or neighbouring Turkey.

Kos is 43 km long and 2 km wide at the narrowest point, up to a maximum of 6 km at its largest point. It is the third island of the Dodecanese for size and the second for the population. Its close proximity to the coasts of Turkey and more precisely to the ancient city of Halicarnassus, now known as Bodrum, makes it particularly fascinating as it offers an interesting combination of eastern and western elements. Even though Kos is known for its tourism, it has done well in maintaining its soul. Escaping from the tourists is easily done, and you will always manage to find a hidden away beach.

Kos City and other known places…

The capital of the island is Kos town (Kos City), a lively tourist town, rich in history as well as bars, Greek taverns and narrow streets with shops. Kos town has beautiful beaches sheltered from the Meltemi and is the most requested tourist resort on the island. Nearby there are several villages with a traditional soul such as Platani, Pili, Zia and Asomatos. A short distance away are the thermal baths of Kos, a natural swimming pool renowned for its sulphurous water and the archaeological site “Asklepion”, the most important site of the island of Kos. Just stone’s throw away from the Asklepion itself is the extraordinary location of our incredible Hippocrates Fitness & Wellness Retreats.

Other known villages are Tigaki, Marmari and Mastihari in the northern part of the island, these are mainly tourist resorts that offer good services but most importantly long sandy beaches. Towards the south of Kos there is the small village of Kardamena, a place that in recent years is particularly frequented by families, but also couples of young people, in search of tranquillity and crystal clear sea. Kefalos, however, has to be the gem of southern Kos. It is known to be the most authentic and peaceful place, as well as boasting the most beautiful beaches on the island of Kos. Beaches are mostly wide and sandy, but you can also find bays and rocky coves with amazing sea colours.

The Climate…

Most people escape to the Greek Islands for the Sun, and Kos is no different. From April to November, a period during which the rains are very rare, the island offers a Mediterranean climate of excellence that gives the possibility to fully enjoy the sea and perpetually sunny days.

At the same time caressed by the Meltemi (the summer wind) which allows the high temperatures of the high season to be more pleasant. It is possible to run into a few hours of rain only from the end of September / early October but it is dispersed in a short time.

Where our Nature Retreats are…

We are located at The Asklipion Valley Guest House approximately 4.5km away from Kos Town. The Guest house is set in stunning gardens with incredible sea and mountain views, the perfect setting to wind down. Each studio/apartment is uniquely different but with a fantastic traditional Greek design. The owner of the guest house is an incredibly talented local artist and has made the guest house extremely welcoming. Each studio/apartment comes equipped with basic cooking facilities for the days you do not fancy eating with the group (however, 3 meals a day will be provided). Some of the rooms have terraces/balconies allowing you to enjoy your morning coffee/tea in private (if you wish) and all have private bathrooms.
