Begin your adventure by climbing to Athens' tallest peak, Mt. Lycabettus. Standing at 271 meters (908 feet) above sea level, enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of Athens.

Continue to Philopappou Hill, which offers an excellent close-up view of the Acropolis on one side and the Aegean Sea on the other. See the port of Piraeus as well as the neighboring islands of Aegina and Agistri.

Finally, finish at Mars Hill. As well as its historical and biblical significance, this hill offers a unique Acropolis view and sits right above the Ancient Agora. Get a perfect view of the iconic Temple of Hephaestus and the Stoa of Attalos.

In between each hill, walk past some of the major landmarks of Athens and take photo stops along the way.

Itinerary

  • Beginning: Meet, greet and ice-breaker.
  • Begin the climb, passing by some of Athens’ most iconic landmarks
  • Take a break halfway up Lycabettus to enjoy the view
  • Reach the summit of Lycabettus and enjoy the breathtaking 360 views
  • Descend via the other side and see a whole different side of the city
  • Make the walk across town, passing by some more key landmarks
  • Arrive at Philopappou Hill
  • Photo break and savouring the view (and sunset on certain days)
  • Finish at: Acropolis Museum

There is some fantastic hiking and exploring to be done on this experience. Be sure to come prepared with comfortable walking shoes more than anything. Also, if visiting during the summer months, water is essential. You may also want to take hat, sunglasses and even sunscreen.
